Celebrating Gratitude
As the year draws to a close, our WorkAdvance team gathered alongside recent graduates to celebrate the accomplishments of our final cohort of 2024. This Thanksgiving-themed event was more than just a meal—it was a heartfelt moment to reflect on the journeys of our graduates and their bright futures ahead.
The celebration followed the last day of training hosted at Owens Community College, where our graduates completed their preparation for local manufacturing roles in Hancock County. During the gathering, we invited participants to share what they were thankful for. Their responses were both inspiring and humbling:

“The Financial Opportunity Center at Habitat for Humanity Findlay connected me to the resources I needed to succeed.”

Many participants expressed their gratitude for a fresh start and for the chance to connect with promising careers in the area. Several graduates had already passed their certification exams and were eagerly anticipating upcoming interviews with local manufacturers—a testament to their hard work and the program’s impact.
The highlight of the celebration was a shared meal where team members and graduates came together as a community. It was a time to celebrate not only the end of training but also the beginning of new chapters in each participant’s life.
As we reflect on this milestone, we’re reminded of the power of opportunity, community support, and collaboration. Programs like WorkAdvance thrive because of partnerships with organizations like Raise the Bar, the Financial Opportunity Center, and Owens Community College. Together, we are empowering individuals to build brighter futures and strengthening the workforce in Hancock County.
